Dr. Donald W. Heagren

Dr. Donald W. Heagren is a native of Ohio. He attended Ohio University for his pre-veterinary studies and is a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, he joined a multi-doctor practice in Cincinnati, Ohio where he and Dr. Larry Swenberg first met and worked together. Dr. Heagren established an out-patient clinic in Milford, Ohio and was very active in the state and local veterinary association.

In 1978, Dr. Heagren and Dr. Swenberg made the decision to become partners, move to Durham, NC and acquire Cornwallis Road Animal Hospital. Dr. Heagren enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine and surgery. He has worked closely with the wildlife rehabilitation groups for treatment and release of wild birds. His hobbies and interests are community involvement, fishing, racketball and gardening. Dr. Heagren and his wife, Barb, reside in Durham with their cat Dempsey and hunting companion, Haley.
